Switch/UM settings

The following table describes the Switch and Universal Machine (UM) settings available in the ATP Settings dialog box:

Switch study:

Statistic study: Study with statistic switches. Specify the number of simulation Num>0.

Systematic study: Study with systematic switches. Specify the number of simulation Num>0.

ATPDraw sets the correct sign of NENERG.

Switch controls:

Universal machine controls:

Here the user can specify global data to be used with Universal electrical machines in ATP. The selections apply to all universal machines in a circuit.

Automatic or Manual initialization.

Manual:   Terminal quantities of all machines must be specified.

Automatic: Initial conditions calculated by ATP. See section 9D1.5. in the ATP Rule Book for requirements.

Prediction or Compensation based interface.

Prediction: The machine does not appear to be a nonlinear element to the external network. The option is not available for single phase machines.

Compensation: The machine does appear to be a nonlinear element to the external network. Certain rules regarding connecting machines together must be followed. Inclusion of stub lines is often required.

SI or per unit quantities.
