The following table describes the Simulation settings available in the ATP Settings dialog box:
Option |
Description |
delta T |
Time step of simulation in seconds. |
Tmax |
End time of simulation in seconds. |
Xopt |
Inductances in [mH] if zero; otherwise, inductances in [Ohm] with Xopt as frequency. |
Copt |
Capacitances in [micro-Farad] if zero; otherwise, capacitances in [micro-mho] with Copt as frequency. |
Epsilon |
Controls how ATP report singularity problems of the system matrix. If zero, the default value EPSILN from ATP's STARTUP-file is used. Traditionally a high value as 1E-8 is used, but much lower values like 1E-12 can be used on modern computers. This will allow smaller resistances for instance. The parameter has also some impact for non-linearities. |
Freq |
System frequency in Hz. |
Power Frequency |
Checking this button enables the system frequency to be typed in and written to the SYSTEM FREQUENCY request card in the ATP file. Power frequency specification is required for Harmonic Frequency Scan simulations. |

Frequency Scan
If Frequency Scan is selected the FREQUENCY SCAN option of ATP is enabled.
min: Starting frequency for the frequency scan
max: Ending frequency for the frequency scan
df: Frequency increment. Leave 0 in logarithmic scan
NPD: Number of frequencies per decades in logarithmic scan.
If Frequency Scan or Harmonic is selected the user can select which component of the solution to print out.
Magnitude only: Default request
Magnitude & Angle: POLAR OUTPUT VARIABLES
Magnitude & Angle & Real/Imag: BOTH POLAR AND RECTANGULAR
Real/Imag: RECTANGULAR OUTPUT VARIABLES
Other combinations are illegal and are prevented by button logic.
