In addition to the Data and Node pages, the Edit definitions dialog box contains the following options:
Option |
Description |
Help |
Editor This button shows a question-mark icon which, when selected, displays a help editor where you can edit or write the component specific help text. This help text is displayed when the Help button of the Open Probe or Open Component dialog box is selected, or the Ctrl+F1 keys are pressed when a selected component exists in the active circuit window. |
Icon Editor |
When you select the button, an icon editor is displayed, enabling you to draw a new or redraw the existing component icon. The user can switch between bitmap and vector graphic icons just below this button. When the user tries to switch icon format a Warning message appears about this irreversible process (allthough Cancel or Undo should be possible). If changing to Bitmap, the Vector graphic icon is converted, but if changing to Vector a more default icon is created with connection to the nodes. Automatic conversion from bitmap to vector graphic is not trivial. This automatic conversion was introduced in version 5.4. |
Picture |
Bckgnd It is possible to add a standard bitmap/metafile to the icon, via the Add picture dialog. The picture can be scaled and forced to follow the rotation (only applies to bitmaps) of the icon. The user can choos to store the loaded metafile as a bitmap. |
Save |
Saves the object to disk. |
Save As |
Saves the object to a specified support file. |
Help |
Displays help topic for active page (i.e. Data or Node help). |
Exit/Cancel |
If the bottom button displays Exit, no modifications have been made to the object since the last Save or Save As operation, and the dialog can safely be closed. If the button displays Cancel, the object needs to be saved; otherwise, any changes made will be lost when you select this button. |
