Type 94

Type 94

The Type-94 component is a special ATP interface of MODELS that partly avoids the time step delay and gives direct access to the system description and nodal admittance matrix. The user can choose between three, or really, four types; THEV, ITER, NORT and Norton transmission (double Norton). Templates for the four types are given in ATPDraw from version 5.4.

When selecting the THEV type the rest of the (assumed linear) circuit is transformed into a Thevenin equivalent and the Thevenin voltage and series resistance becomes input to the model which then should give back the current in the element. This is the same as the classical compensation method used for true nonlinear components in ATP.

The ITER type used the Newton iteration algorithm of ATP to obtain the operating point (the rest of the circuit does not need to be linear). There are problems involved in using several ITER type.

The NORT is simply seem by the rest of the circuit as a Norton equivalent. It outputs the conductance matrix and currents for the next time step based on terminal voltage input.

The NORT-TR component is a two terminal Norton equivalent.

When the user selects the version of the type-94 component from the four variants, ATPDraw tries to replace the header information to what corresponds to the chosen type. The flag '-- Start header' and '-- End header' is used for this purpose. ATPDraw also reloads the standard icons from ATPDraw.scl and the four files nTYPE94T, nTYPE94I, nTYPE94N, nTYPE94NT so that the icon becomes correct with required number of nodes.

As for Models the user can edit the model text via the Edit button and the standard text editor. Here, the user can past, import and type in the Model text. Record works the same way as for models. The user can also choose the number of phases for this component. All nodes will get the same number of phases.
